ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a Metal Artist Creating Metal Design items and Jewelry
Whether I am working on Metal Design or Jewelry Design,
I like the engineering and innovative aspect of my work.
Like and engineer, I am creating a structure that needs to
function well. With any new concept, I visualize the whole process to find an innovative approach to the construction.
I am drawing with a coping saw. I am painting with metal
colors, oxidation, patina, and stamp work.
I get the greatest sense of accomplishment from creating
art that elicits an emotional response.
ARTIST BIO
Since the 70's, I've been silversmithing around getting a
Business degree, raising a child, and my "day job".
Through the years, I worked persistently to develop skills for
the jewelry trade. I studied with Bob Hazeltine's Jewelry School
in 2004. I was learning techniques that I hadn't been exposed to.
I was fine tuning techniques I had already established.
The skills I used for making jewelry have crossed over to
my Metal Design work that I started in 2019.
I work in silver, gold, copper, nickel, brass, and a wide variety of
beads and stones.
My designs incorporate fabrication, lapidary, wax carving, cold join,
and bead work.
I am a four-time award winner for my work entered into
NM Jewelers Association competitions.
